The night train was not very fun and not something I’m eager to repeat. Sat in a compartment with 5 other people – in the middle – was not very comfortable. I think combined I maybe slept 3 hours at a stretch. When we rolled in at 6:00am I was about ready to kill Chris for subjecting me to it.
We dragged ourselves to the hostel and dropped off our bags. We then headed to a coffee shop. Me – still worrying about the affects of caffeine on my fragile gut – avoided the energising elixir and settled for apple juice. Waking up slightly, we walked around the green belt of the city. After this we wondered over to an art museum. Repelled by the cost of something neither of us were interested in, me and Chris looked for alternative entertainment. We ended up walking up to the Krakow castle and seeing a fire breathing dragon statue. Not a bad use of time at all.

By this point we were able to check into the hostel so we checked in a napped for about 3 hours. Unfortunately all it left me was more tired. I dragged myself out for dinner. I tried pierogi. A chewy dumpling that made my insides churn.

Feeling a bit worse for wear and tired I decided I was done with people for a bit. I went on a nice evening walk around the city on my own which revitalised me a bit. When I got back to the hostel we chatted for a bit and then went to bed quite early. Not really the party hostel vibe but I’m glad to say in the morning I felt a hell of a lot better. We dashed off to the train station, heading for Warsaw.
