My house mate is a city in Italy

Originally we planned a couple nights in Milan. Problematically, Milan is the most expensive city I’ve found that I wanted to stay in so far. Ultimately the cost/reward ratio didn’t seem worth it. We thought we would probably enjoy an extra day in Tuscany instead. Not able to to find any accommodation at all at a fair price in Milan we ended up not even doing one night, instead we’re headed for Parma.

I still wanted to drop by thought. We got in around mid afternoon and hung out for a couple hours. To be honest, my main motivation for coming here was purely so I could make a joke about how Milan is also the name of my house mate. I’m nothing if not committed to my bits.

We headed over the cathedral (well worth seeing). We got a few photos and walked over to a booth who were giving out free EU bucket hats. After sheepishly admitting our Englishness we answered quiz questions about the EU and got our free hats.

Me being who I am, I thought it would be fun to head to the Ferrari store just a minute away. With it being the Italian Grand Prix weekend I expected some fan fare. What I didn’t expect was to see both Ferrari drivers in the store. Unfortunately this meant the store was shut. But I’ll take the trade, Carlos Sainz (the guy in yellow) waved at me. Honestly this made the whole detour to Milan worth it for me.

After this we rushed back to the station, collected our bags and grabbed our train off to new places.
