The Poland dash comes to an end. As does the travels to Eastern Europe. I’ve enjoyed my time around this half of the continent but making my way back towards Western Europe is sounding good – although not so much for the bank account.
Warsaw is a fantastic modern city. It’s a good cross point for west and east. It’s modern like the cities in the west but it’s still very culturally eastern.

We arrived and met Chris’ old flat mate Dominica and their friend Julia. We dropped our bags at the hostel and then had a wonder around the city. We grabbed some food and saw a lot of live music that was going on around the old town. We then got some beer-cocktails. A strange concoction that made my (yes still) frail stomach a bit queasy. We headed home shortly after with the intention of drinking a bit more but we were all fairly shattered by the time we got back.

As is often the case, the idea of getting up and out early didn’t happen. We had a panic trying to book our places onto the very busy polish train system. Ultimately it meant leaving just past noon. Poland is another country I think I’ll need to come back to in order to appreciate it fuller. Between feeling a bit low the last few days and the short period of time we were here – I feel like I missed out. Ah well. Always next time. I justify my slightly ‘dashier’ travels with the fact that I’ll never be able to afford unlimited travel like this again. So I may as well take advantage while I can and at least see some of these places. The rest of my trip is fairly staggered. However we’re approaching the expensive countries now…
