Intents Days

After a delayed arrival in Munich we arrived at the tent rather late. My lack of knowledge of any of the German language was properly a struggle but we managed to make it there in the end. Germany currently offer a €9 pass to take any public transportation around the country. Which makes me ask the question why am I not just travelling there? Never the less I bought the pass so I could use the trams.

The tent had a campfire and singing but we were all a bit knackered from walking around Paris and travelling all day so we relaxed with a couple beers and went to bed. The place felt like a sleep away camp from when I was younger. It was nice to relive those vibes however I wish I’d been able to stay longer.

The full day we had in Munich was started with a nice lie in. Then we headed into the city and looked around the markets and I enjoyed one of Munich’s many vegan offerings. We then headed out to the Olympic park with the BMW Welt – essentially a free exhibit showing off all of BMW’s current vehicle lineup. I’m not sure how much everyone else enjoyed it but I had a good time.

We then strolled around the Munich Olympic Park used to host the 1972 games. The area is quite incredible and I’m surprised it’s only hosted the one time. The whole area is a designed to look like all the buildings exist under one tent. It’s a very interesting design.

After exploring the park we headed back into the centre of the city to find a beer garden where I may have had one too many steins…

The evening was filled with a few more beers back at the campsite. It rained and thundered all night which gave quite a nice atmosphere but ruined the campfire experience we were seeking. A good time was still had though considering the low price of the beer.

Our last day we headed back to the station and got on our train to Salzburg. The most rammed train I’ve been on in my life. I’m writing the post sat on the floor of aisle. The novelty of this experience is wearing thin already – thankfully there is not too much longer to go.
